Tenfield
Tenfield is a Uruguayan multimedia group and audiovisual production company mainly oriented to the live broadcasting of national and international sporting events through various television channels. For several years it has held the exclusive broadcasting rights for Uruguayan soccer and other local sports such as basketball, volleyball, rugby, handball, indoor soccer, beach soccer, field field hockey and cycling. It is also in charge of the transmissions of the carnival parade and contest.
The challenge
Tenfield requested the development of a platform to distribute videos of Uruguayan soccer goals, as soon as they are scored, to subscribers anywhere in the world. The platform receives the goal videos, encodes them and distributes them according to devices in almost real time. It is a product for all those who can’t watch the game, but don’t want to miss the goals. The platform supports large traffic loads from anywhere in the world.

The results

Fast video delivery from the moment the goal is scored until the user views it on their device. Near real-time distribution, automated with different formats depending on the receiving device, and with progressive loading to reduce the waiting time from click play to playback.

Low latency. It doesn’t matter where in the world you see it. Cloudfront’s service allows Uruguayans living abroad, no matter where they live, to access the service as quickly as users in Uruguay. This is due to the existing cache on all Amazon server nodes worldwide. This minimizes latency, because the content is downloaded from the node closest to the user.

Increased security. All content is encrypted using the latest certificates, and the system validates that users are subscribed to send the content, so it can only be reproduced by that user, previously identified and authenticated.
